I thought it was a very nice place to stay. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice. That's pretty much all that matters to me, cleanliness and service. The pillows were flat, but next time I'll just take my own! No big deal!

It's a place to stay. Was in the area to visit family and needed a place to stay that wouldn't cost me a second mortgage on my house. This is your basic motel, not bad but nothing special. I had none of the rude surprises as mentioned by some of the other reviewers, the owners were pleasant and accommodating. And I may well stay there again when I am back in the area.

Nice Place & GREAT Price - Review of Lane's Motel, French Lick, IN - TripAdvisor
Lane's Motel is a great place to stay overnight and a great price. The people are friendly checking in and out, they're very helpful. My room was very spacious with a flat screen TV, mini fridge, mini microwave, hairdryer and mini coffee pot.
It was peaceful, however; you could hear minimal voices of people staying next door. My room did not smell like smoke, due to all the rooms being smoke-free. I would certainly stay again!
Just be sure to bring your own pillow, due to the pillows being very flat. Nothing fancy, no complimentary breakfast or exercise room but you can't beat the price in this area! Whenever we are near French Lick, we stay at the Lane Motel. We enjoy the Mom and Pop cozy atmosphere and the rooms are a great deal. We would recommend the Lane to anyone visiting the French Lick area.
I knew what I was getting into choosing to stay here. The unit is basic. Pillows are terrible The room was clean. They do have flat screen tv and cable. We did not use pool as it was winter. Nothing fancy.
Good for a quick stay. We stayed at the Lane's Motel while we were there. The following is a review I just read on the same motel we stayed at. Very large with really nice furniture. Leather chairs and a big table and a large couch. Nice TV. Big bathroom. Nice and quiet and close to everything. Our dog liked it too. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Nice mom and pop motel. Is this really the same motel? Our room was small, smelly and just plain terrible.
The beds were hard as a rock, pillows flat, blankets had holes in both of the beds. Thank goodness I took my own pillowcases. The walls are so thin I could hear the dog barking in the next room and the people who were staying in the room had a terrible fight and kept us up half the night Ruth was rude when we checked in and it was obvious that she did not want to hear any complaints we had and answered my questions about the hotel with very short and snappy answers.
We had requested a nonsmoking room, it was obvious that Ruth books nonsmoking and smoking in the same rooms. The other hotels were completed booked because of the golf tournament. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone to spend the night at. Yes, it is very convenient to all the other places but please just book at one of the other hotels. Great value for the money, very clean and tidy.
Staff and hosts very friendly. Shops and eating places very close. French resorts and Casino is in close proximity and within walking distance. We have found Orange county to have very friendly people and helped us in all areas. We decided to give this place a try while boating for the weekend, the owner is very friendly. There was plenty of room for my truck and boat to be parked.
The pool appeared to be very clean and well maintained as I did not try it, I had been at the lake all day and was going back the following day. Thank you!!! Flights Holiday Rentals Restaurants Things to do. French Lick. Profile Sign in. Log in to get trip updates and message other travellers.
